My name is Nidal, and I live in Gaza. I am a father trying to care for and protect my young children after a war that destroyed everything we once had.

Since the war began, my life has completely changed. I am no longer just a father — I have become a provider, a protector, and a source of strength for my children in a world filled with fear and uncertainty. Every day, I struggle to support my little ones and give them the basic things every child deserves.

Like thousands of families in Gaza, the war turned our lives upside down.

We lost our home, our neighborhood, and the stability that once made us feel safe.

Today, we live in temporary and unstable shelter. Every day is a battle just to secure food, clean water, and medicine. I walk long distances to public kitchens hoping to bring something back for my children… but many times I return with nothing except apologies and heavy heartbreak.

My children have been deeply affected by this war.

They suffer from weakness and signs of malnutrition.

They live in constant fear because of explosions and uncertainty.

They ask me for simple things — food, safety, a normal life — and it breaks my heart when I cannot provide them.

With no income and prices rising beyond imagination, I cannot afford proper meals, hygiene supplies, or even a dignified place for my children to use the bathroom. We are living in conditions no family should ever face.

But I am still standing.

Still trying.

Still fighting for my children.
