My name is Khalil Abu Harbid. I once lived a life of contentment and peace; I had a beautiful home for my small family—my wife and my child—and a job that allowed me to live with dignity. But the war left nothing as it was.

In an instant, our home was reduced to rubble, and I lost everything I had worked so hard for over so many years. Even more painful than the loss of our home and possessions was the tragic loss of my beloved brother, Ahmed, along with several other family members—a void that can never be filled.

Today, I face a harsh reality. Life here is incredibly difficult; every single day is a new battle for survival for my wife, my child, and me, amidst the overwhelming circumstances that affect us all.

في لحظة واحدة، تحولت منزلنا إلى ركام، وخسرت بحكم كل ما تعبت لأجله سنين طويلة. والأصعب من الحجر والمال، كان الفجيعة بفقدان أخي الحبيب أحمد، وعدد من أفراد الأسرة الذين تركوا فراغاً لا يمكن لأحد أن يملأه.

اليوم، أقف أمام واقع قاسي جداً؛ الحياة هنا صعبة، وكل يوم هو معركة جديدة بسيطة من العناصر الصغيرة وزوجتي في ظل ما يشمل الجميع.
