*Amir and the Quiet Shoes*
Amir is 9 years old.
Before, Amir loved football. He had blue shoes that were a little too big, so they made a _tap-tap_ sound when he ran.
Now, Amir doesn't run much.
His days are different. Sometimes there is no water in the tap. Sometimes there is no bread. At night, the sounds are loud and he holds his little sister's hand very tight so she doesn't shake.
Amir lost his best friend. He lost his school. He lost his blue shoes when they had to leave their home quickly.
"Mama, when can we go back?" he asks.
Mama hugs him and says, "I don't know, habibi. But we are together. That is our home for now."
Amir still tries to be a big brother. He shares his piece of bread into two. He tells his sister stories about the sea, so she can fall asleep. He draws his football in the dust, so he doesn't forget.
One day, a neighbor gave them a small bag of flour. Amir smiled for the first time in many days. Not because the flour was big — but because someone remembered them.
Amir is not a number. He is a child who loves football, who misses his shoes, who is trying to be brave even when he is hungry and scared.
All he wants is what every child wants: to be safe, to eat, to learn, to play again.

If you want to use this to help raise support, you can add this at the end:
> This is Amir's story, but it is the story of thousands of innocent children.
> They didn't choose this suffering.
